About
I am an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the Gies College of Business, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. My research examines how the internal design of organizations—how work is structured, workers deployed, and rewards distributed—affects worker outcomes and firm performance. I am particularly interested in outcomes beyond productivity, including worker health and safety and the quality of essential services that organizations deliver.
My work has appeared in Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, and Academy of Management Journal. I serve on the editorial review boards of Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science, and on the Research Committee of the Academy of Management's Strategic Management Division.
I am also an affiliated faculty member of the Lemann Center for Brazilian Studies and the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and a Scholar at the Illinois Strategic Organizations Initiative (ISOI). I received my Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
